What's in and what's out this winter season

2015 has been mayhem all the way, with so many fashion trends in and out, leaving our heads spinning. The runways have been blessing the eyes with the latest and unique collections where each designer tried to bring to the stage something new and personal. With so much diversity going on, one must think that this winter, just about anything would “go” – that is of course never the case.

You may be thinking of retiring your cold sparkly winter coats hanging in your closet for something new. Stop right there! The 80s are back, and so is everything that is sparkly and sequined. To not leave you hanging in between, we went after the experts to get them to spill the secrets as to what they believed was ‘in’ this winter and what wasn’t.

Winters 2015 brings with itself inspirations and craze from the 80s. That’s’ right, the retro and bohemian vibes are back to let us enjoy our flared dresses and of course suede.

What’s in

  1. Sparkle during the holidays with your cocktail beaded dresses and pair them with suede bellbottoms ladies. You will thank us later.
  2. It’s all about the outerwear this season. What you wear inside doesn’t matter much. Wrap yourself up in a moto jacket, an oversized knee length coat, or a poncho or cape. Although these piece are timeless but shine their best in winters. In case you aren’t a 6 feet goddess and long legs to pull this style off, towering heels will certainly help you get there.
  3. Staying warm is the fashion trend you need to follow. This means it’s time to take out your parkas and pair them up with chubby knits, sheer layers and woolen coats. A slinky or velvet slip dress will also look gorgeous. This will add some femininity to your layered-up winter look.
  4. High shine is the new motto, or should we call it bling? What better days to shine on your best than in winters when everything seems to be dull and bored to death. Shiny dresses look festive and chic. What looks best: a high shine skirt, paired with tops to make a much cooler statement than the winters itself.
  5. Color white is so ‘in’ these winters. Nearly all fashion shows co-signed this statement on their runway collections. There is something so alluring about white with its deceptive simplicity.
  6. A little touch of fur will go a long way. Chopped and screwed for a more wintery look; pieces of mink, Mongolian lamb and fox collaged onto double-breasted coats will not only make you look elegant but also fashion conscious in a nice way.
  7. What’s out you ask? Anything that is traditional and stinks of the formal holiday stereotype. Its time you spice things up for a little fun rather than staying with formal Christmas dressing.
  8. Black tights are a big NO this time of the season, be it any year. Go nude with chic separates like suede or some pretty cool knee-length boots.
