Top 4 Fashion Mistakes Women Need to Avoid on their First Date

You’re on your first date and you can’t help but wish you’d worn your favorite short black dress instead of the tight glittery dress that makes you look completely out of place at the casual restaurant.

Your first date has to go perfectly. It’s your shot at a first impression. But how can you have fun if you can’t even feel comfortable?

Fashion mistakes for the first date are countless. And as an Italian fashion clothing store that receives its fair share of anxious customers looking for the perfect outfit for that date, we know a lot about first date fashion mistakes.

So how do you even know you’re committing a fashion faux pas until your date starts looking at you strangely? Simple; you listen to our advice.

4 Mistakes Not to Make

1. Being Uncomfortable in the Name of Fashion

A lot of us might have long forgotten about the pain we feel when we wear those murderously expensive and beautiful heels. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that the pain is still there. Wearing something that you feel uncomfortable in, simply because it looks fashionable is no excuse. Fashion is all about bringing your inner beauty out, and that cannot happen if your discomfort is making you look like Edvard Munch’s famous ‘The Scream’ painting. Wear something that you feel free in, and you will automatically look more gorgeous than ever.

2. Wearing Something Out of the Laundry Bin

Your first date has to go smoothly and that cannot happen if your date awkwardly tells you that you have a rather large ink stain on the crotch of your jeans. Fresh clothes make the right first impression. And while you may think that your date might not notice the odd state of your clothes, you could not be more wrong. Your date will be just as attentive as you are, and they WILL notice if your clothes look like you’ve rolled around in them. And this will end up giving them the impression that you simply do not give them enough importance to care about your appearance at all.

3. Looking Too Formal

We are all for girl power and power suits, but please understand that these do not bode well for your date. Power suits give too formal of a look, and while you may look perfectly intimidating in the boardroom, you will look very unapproachable on your date. You don’t need to look super feminine, but if you do end up wearing a suit for your date, skip the jacket and instead go for some nice hoop earrings, a dressy scarf and complete the look by opening up your tresses. This way, you’ll look exactly like the elegant, sexy and confident woman that you are.

4. Stressing Too Much

I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!” We’ve all said this while stressing about the perfect first-date dress to wear. Remember that the more you stress out, the more you might find supposed faults in your look. It’s not a bad thing to look your best for your date, but please understand that your date will only be wowed if you look at your own self in the mirror first and feel a little smug at your appearance. Wear what makes you happy; something that has always made you feel good. And you’ll definitely feel that bounce in your step.

Go ahead and start your first date on a positive note, and we’re sure you’ll be coming back for your second date dresses and more.
